This marinade will really work for any steak cut, I chose to use flat Iron steak and it was SO good!!
As a note, a meat thermometer will be your best friend in determining the rareness for your steak. I prefer my steak medium rare (as you can see in the photos), so the temperature I shoot for is 130-135 degrees.
What you need:
- 1 lb. Flat iron steak
- 1/2 cup mushed raspberries
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tsp. cayenne powder
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
Start by mushing up your raspberries, I used a press to help filter out the seeds. Once the raspberries are ready add in all the other ingredients for the marinade.
Once the marinade is mixed pour over the steak and let rest in the fridge for a few hours (I let mine rest for about 3 hours in a ziplock bag).
Now that you are ready to cook your steak, heat up your skillet on medium high. I like to get a nice sear as I lay the steak into the pan. Let it sear for about 5-7 minutes or until it has gotten up to temperature.
Remove the steak from the pan a let rest for a few minutes until slicing and enjoying!

This steak is so versatile, it can be served over a salad, with a veggie and potato side, or even just by itself:)
